ROAST: Medium

The sweet flavors and aromas of this naturally processed Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee are its strongest asset. This medium roast reminds us of grandma‘s homemade blueberry pie with a touch of caramel. It is sweet, medium bodied, and berry delicious.  12 oz.

Grown and harvested by the Halo Bariti Coop in the Yirgacheffe of region of Ethiopia, at an altitude of about 6,700 ft. Halo Bariti is one of the newest cooperatives in Ethiopia, having been in existence only since 2012. The members all used to be a part of the larger Worka Cooperative, located on the opposite catchment area. This zone is extraordinarily remote and undeveloped, meaning most farmers have more land under their control than farther north in Sidama, Yirgacheffe, or Kochere. The Worka zone in general is the highest altitude cultivation area in the entire country of Ethiopia, resulting in some stunningly unique cup profiles.

Region/Co-op:  Yirgacheffe/Halo Bariti – WORKA
Certifications:  Fair Trade, Organic
Processed:  Natural, sundried
Altitude:  1,600-2,300 meters (5,250-7,545 ft)

This coffee is incredibly flavorful and tastes absolutely wonderful! It is one of our favorites that we order consistently.

I love this stuff. It’s smooth and delicious and the description nails the flavors. I brew it fresh ground hot on the weekend, and it makes a fine cold brew that gets me through the week. Well done!

Probably the best coffee I’ve ever had 🙂 (and I’ve tried a lot of fancy coffees!) I love the blueberry flavor that comes through from the beans. I always look forward to getting a bag of this coffee every month, and I really love that it’s organic!

This one of the best smelling and tasting coffees I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying. It is also one of the rare cases where a description that sounds unrealistic for coffee flavor notes (“This medium roast reminds us of grandma‘s homemade blueberry pie with a touch of caramel.”) actually is dead on and amazingly accurate! I recommend this coffee to all of my coffee loving friends, and it gets rave reviews each time. Do yourself a favor and pick up a bag for yourself if you haven’t already. Kudos, Steel Cup!
